Camping

Speed limits are strictly enforced in the park with 45 mph on park roads, and 30 mph approaching ranger stations or major campgrounds.

The Event Headquarters is at Rio Grande Village camping area. Bring your tent and camping gear, and you will be ready to go first thing in the morning on race day. Lodges and hotels are also available.

Runners campsite choices include:

  1. Camp in RGV group campsites with race staff at $10/weekend/person added to race entry fee, limited to 25 campsites on a first-come, first-served basis, available Friday after 2:00 PM.
  2. Camp in RGV individual campsites (E) at $10/night for 8 persons/ two vehicles. Reserve site with National Park Service see below). The site holds up to 414 per night.
  3. Camp in any campsite you choose in the park. La Clocha, Boquillas Canyon, Hot Springs, Old Ore Road, Glenn Springs and Dugout Wells are a few within 20-30-minute drive of RGV parking lot. Chisos Mountain campers allow 45 minutes to drive down to RGV.
  4. Camping in the nearby backcountry sites is first come, first served and by permit. It costs $10 per permit and does not include Hot Springs. The backcountry sites and trail sites are reservable the day of or prior only. Must be in person at a visitor center.
